Please help us meet our goal to raise $23,000 to sponsor Ya'ara for the year.

Ya’ara is a 2 year old girl with global developmental delays and dysmorphic features. She has made tremendous progress during her first year at Beit Issie Shapiro. Ya'ara has overcome her difficulty separating from her mother and now loves coming to school and has become very attached to her teachers and classmates.  Although she can not stand or walk independently, Ya’ara has began to crawl and can sit by herself.  In addition, she has increased her receptive vocabulary and has begun to follow simple directions.  Ya’ara is now using gestures and signs to express herself.  She loves spending time in our therapeutic pool and especially enjoys her hydrotherapy sessions.  Ya’ara's family is also benefiting from all Beit Issie has to offer as they are enthusiastic participants in all our family workshops.

                                        Enjoying last year's Acqualina BBQ!

Beit Issie Shapiro is Israel’s leading organization in the field of disability. Founded in 1980, Beit Issie Shapiro seeks to improve the civic rights of people with special needs and ensure their access to the high quality services and programs they depend on.

We provide therapeutic daycare and treatment, a continuum of services to support families and operate programs that challenge prejudices and promote the inclusion of people with special needs and play an active role in influencing public policy. Additionally, we engage in research and program evaluation, contributing to the development of knowledge, and we educate and train professionals to follow the service models known to work best.
